Legal help needed for deadbeat tenant

I live in Victoria, BC, Canada, and am renting a duplex flat in a prime Central location to someone who is now 2 months behind paying his rent. Despite many back-and-forth communication, he is just buying time and giving me the run around. Can anyone recommend an effective solicitor who is well versed in giving eviction notices or taking other legal action to get rid of tenants who are in breach of their tenancy agreements?

Prior to any legal action, your advisors should review the written lease agreement. As the landlord, you may serve a warning or eviction notice for breach, according to the agreement. If you decide to bring a claim at the Lands Tribunal for rent owed, you should appoint a solicitor or authorized representative in Hong Kong. The Small Claims Tribunal also handles monetary matters under $50,000 but no legal representation is allowed, so you will have to attend in person or appoint an authorized representative. Our firm Weir & Associates, a firm based in Central, Hong Kong, handles landlord/tenant matters.
