Cost of selling a flat

Can anyone advise the approximate cost (conveyancing - not agents' fees) of selling a flat?


Also, any idea of the cost of setting up a limited power of attorney?


I'd like to know if my solicitor is being fair with me.

Short answer: it depends


Longer answer from someone who has not sold a flat in several years: the solicitors' fees were about HK$9,000 for the conveyance and mortgage discharge. This was for a flat delivered vacant with no issues. Disbursements were obviously in addition to this.


For a power of attorney to be used in Hong Kong, I would say zero - I'd do it myself if I needed one.

Agents’ fees or legal fees for selling a flat depend on the selling price of your flat.


Fees for executing a limited power of attorney varies depending on the matters to be dealt with, typically a few thousand HK$.
