Redeveloping Property

Hi,


I have the opportunity of redeveloping a village house in the northern NTs of HK which includes a small parcel of farming land.


I understand that the property is what it is (2100 sq ft) and can be no more. What I would like to know is if I can change the occupation permit to use the building to something else (from residential to commercial). It has no near neighbors. Would I have to knock the building down to change the occupation permit?

This sounds like a question that a phone call to the Lands Department or Town Planning could easily clear up. Another option is to ask your village council.


If you get an answer please post it here, I'm interested to know what the rules are.
