Hi,
My family and I have been looking for a flat this past month and have been asked quite a few times already by more than one property agent what our race is and what our jobs are. As per agent, the landlord would want to know those details. I am not worried because we have decent jobs but being asked these questions are a bit intrusive. We've been here in HK for 15 years, have lived in 4 different flats but were never asked these questions before.
Isn't this a form of discrimination? Can this be reported and where?

One group I can think of caused some headaches for me.
Actually, they were good tenants.
But their culinary choices favored very spicy food - and so, renting or selling the flat after a period of tenancy proved a headache for me, and definitely cost me some money. Many months rent, actually
Do you think it is wrong for landlords to think about this? What would you do, if you were a landlord to reduce this risk?
