Share Brokers

Hi all, I was hoping to get some advice on opening an online share brokerage in HK.

It would be for the purchase and holding of a small number of stocks, predominantly US stocks, rather than frequent trading, so Interactive Brokers seems expensive due to their min charges if you are not regular trading.

I bank with SCB, but they don't seem to have US share option on their platform.

E-trade (which I used in Australia) has unfortunately closed in HK. Something similar to E-trade would be ideal, but I haven't been able find anything like that.

I think Citi and HSBC would work, but I hate HK banks (for making the simplest things so difficult!) and I am loathe to go through the process of setting up with another one after all the fun I had with SCB (four months, two separate applications and about 10 phone calls it took to get a credit card).

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Thanks
