My whole building is being sold. I have rented this flat for the last 3 years. And before my lease ran out in may 06 he asked if i wanted to conitnue or not. I said yes and he asked for an increase in rent. Came may i still did not reciev any contract from him but still paid my higher rent. when i asked him for my contract he saidhe was adjusting some final details and when it was given to me (past the new term date) he had put a clause in it that said should the building be sold he can give me two months notice with no payouts. he signed this but I didnt as this was not discussed BEFORE i agreed to stay on or pay the rent increase. 2 weeks after i got the contract (late) i got a text from him saying that i had 2 months to move as the builing is being sold. All my neighbors are getting compensated yet he played his cards - ANY advice on how to play???

If your aim is compensation, you will almost certainly need to involve a lawyer sooner or later - so you might as well talk to one straightaway.

I doubt whether you will be entitled to any compensation. What for? It's his flat and he gave you the option to sign a contract on reasonable terms.
