Renting in HK when self-employed

Hi everyone! I'm new to Hong Kong, and I'm looking for a place to rent. I recently quit my job to start my own venture. I have a chunk of savings to last me comfortably for about 18 months. I'm wondering if landlords in HK will typically rent to someone who isn't traditionally employed? I see some rental listings on Facebook groups that explicitly ask for "proof of income." I'm just wondering how to navigate the rental process as a self-employed person in HK. Any advice?

I think you will find it differs on a case by case basis - I'd suggest contacting some agents and asking them for info on this
