Advice needed!!

We have just arrived in HK and are looking for an apartment.

I am working in Soho (restaurant hours, so late finish, about midnight) and my husband will be working in Union Square same hours (above kowloon Station).

We have looked at apartments on both sides and obviously Kowloon / Olympic apartments offer amazing value for money compared to Hk island. We have looked at Harbour Green and were really impressed!

We are hesitant to commit to Kowloon side due to the commute, I am concerned about always trying to catch the last train from HK station, along with the fair distance to walk on both sides.

Are there ANY newer apartment blocks we may not have come across on HK island? Happy to look outside of Central / Midlevels, provided they are close to MTR.

Any advice would be most appreciated, we need to find something very quickly.

Thanks!

Have you checked out the buses instead of the mtr, many run all night, they are safe and frequent. They are of course less frequent at night but they may actually go closer to your apartment than the mtr without all the walking around under ground.

RachRobin,

What is your budget? How big a place are you looking for?

Our budget is around 12k, happy with one large bedroom (by HK standards! - enough for a double bed) or one bed + study.

Had not considered busses, I just assumed they would run as laste as the trains, will look into that today. Thanks.

RachRobin,

I would suggest you look in Sheung Wan and Kennedy Town. With your requirements in mind, a unit in a older building might fit your budget better. The problem with a unit in a new building is the size of the rooms.
