In order to better the education environment of my boy and girl, my wife and I decide to immigrate to the UK in few years. But we are not sure how much are needed?

I stayed in London for a year and lived in an apartment with another 3 roommates. The expends are roughly as followed.
gas: £30-60 per month
electric: £30-60 per month
water: £200-400 per year
internet: £12 per month
phone: £12 per month
tv: £130 per year
As to purchasing an apartment, take Principal Tower which is located in central London as an example, the minimum price is around£700,000. The price is actually more reasonable than Hong Kong.

Thanks Roger,
I am also close to boarding the same boat as Peter above, so wondering if someone can guide us a little
more. how about 30-45 mins drive outside of London?
Would houses be cheaper in the suburbs of London? Can one buy a small HK sizehouse on the g/f for about 100K pounds? Franklyby lookingon the internet, UK's housing market is a lot dodgy thanthat of HK, cos youhave all these different restrictions, (Chain / non chain house, Only some percentage of ownership, etc, whichprobably means that your landlord owns the house for decades / centuries and you and your 2 more generations will have to pay off on the house,so I guess I am in need of more education before thinking about a house in UK, thus feel free to share your experience / tips please, thanks).
And how about gas / car / insurance? are these cheap? Guess these will depend on the type of car a family wishes to drive, but let's say someone who wants to live frugally and drive dirt cheap but workable car to work and driving kids to schools everyday.
How does homeschooling works in UK? Allowed?
Peter if you and your wife are both UK citizens, then I guess you won't have to show any deposit to the government, but if not, I believe for 2 kids and wife (assuming you are the only person with residenceship) you will have need to show about 80,000 pounds as a deposit, such deposit should be held in an account for 6 months and shown to the govt, before they allow you tobring you or for yourwife (whoever has UK citizenship) to take the family to UK.
I think you will also need a job earning at least 25,000 / year for 1 kid, not sure if this figure is different for 2 kids.
All of the above figures are approximate and I have inflated them a little bit for my own calculations just to be safe and figuresare under the assumption that only 1 adult family member has citizenship, so you luckily may not havethese issues to worry about thusjust sharing.
