Help me get rid of my car!

Hi, I need a number(s) to mechanics or scrap metal services that would take my car. I am leaving HK in 11 days, and need help.

Go to any mechanic and ask them to arrange a scrap for you. They may or may not take a fee depending if you were their regular customer. I went to my regular mechanic and he had it towed out of my carpark the next day and handed me the papers from the scrap company so I could apply for refund of the unused portion of the license fees. He even removed my CD player and didn't charge a fee but that is typical of service people in Tai Po - they are very nice and helpful.


I first tried to call scrap yards myself and it was impossible because of lack of Cantonese. You may get $500 to 1K less from the scrapyard than if arranged directly by yourself but the convenience is worth it.
