Tax question

I owe about 40K in taxes, which were due in January. I am now about 2 months overdue. I need to fly to China on Monday for business. I recieved the standard letter from IRD on Friday saying that legal action was now being taken to retrieve the money owed. Important question: will I be allowed to leave or will I get pulled over? I am going to China to earn money so that I can pay my tax. I have no intention of "doing a runner". Hong Kong is my home. Bottom line: will I run into trouble at immigration? I would contact IRD but I leave early tomorrow. Very concerned I won't be allowed out.

you an still leave and enter hong kong, i suggest you to talk to them or write them and ask them for some grace period to pay, alternatively u can also ask them that you would prefer to pay in instalments interest free and penaly free.

good luck
