Can I check if it is safe living in Mui Wo? Also if anybody is living there or has lived there, how is the daily commute to Central etc? Anybody using a car? I am considering moving there as it is less congested and would very much appreciate views from readers. Anybody know the rental range for a decent place?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have thought of that but I don't a car to commute from Sai Kung. Am also wondering if village houses are safe (sorry am new here in HK) and I have a dog too so it has to be conducive for dogs.

If you live in Mui Wo, you have the option of cabbing it to Tung Chung from anywhere in HK, but at around $350- from Central, it's best just to save it for emergencies!!!!! From Tung Chung, you cab it or take a late bus back to Mui Wo....no hassle.

I'm leaving Mui Wo because I think the ferry schedule is hopeless and the fares are overpriced. Taxis are rarely avaliable. If you want to take your dog to somewhere else on the island for a walk you can't use the bus. You are compelled to use virtually non existant taxis. In five years I have rarely taken my dogs anywhere but the immediate vicinity because of this risk. If you get an old banger for on the island you will have more freedom.
