What do people think about the CentreStage development in Shueng Wan. I've read through the other threads in which it was mentioned, and it seems that while the location isn't ideal and the price is high, it is still a great place to live. Opinions now? Does anyone have a flat there? Any info would be appreciated

Hi,
I think CentreStage is great, obviously it's brand new with good facilities and is right in the hear of town. I wouldn't call it Sheung Wan, Wan, it's on Hollywood Road in Central about two minutes' walk from the escalator. But, as with most new buildings, the bedrooms are ridiculously small. If you can get a double bed in, that would be it, you'd have to have the wardrobe in another bedroom. Why not go and have a look?

thanks for the reply. i actually went today, and am a little puzzled about the whole place. the rooms are small, but nice. the location seems to be fine, with a little bit of culture shock stepping out the front door, but that's what hong kong is all about. what really just irked me was the clubhouse design. i wanted to check out their spa, and in order to get there, i was directed to walk through the parking lot to its street entrance. does that make any sense to anyone else, or is there an indoor route that I missed?

Can't help there, sorry, there wasn't a spa when I was last there!

If you go through the entrance on Hollywood Road, then yes, you have to go through the car-park to get to the spa - crazy! Otherwise the entrance for the spa is on Aberdeen street (i think that's what it's called).

we have lived in Centrestage for a month now. the location is excellent especially if you work in central (10 mins walk to IFC). its 3 mins walk to the escalator and SOHO, 5-10 mins to Lan Kwai Fong etc. You have the local street markets for fruits, vegetables, meat etc on Graham and Peel Street nearby.
The building itself is the best quality we have seen here and we were lucky to get one of the bigger units (1066 sqf) on the lowest floor (6th) which has a huge terrace/flat roof.
The spa is not really part of the clubhouse. its an independant spa located in the building which is why it has a seperate entrance. Tennants do however get special rates there.
Unexpecedly, we are however going to move out from Centrestage in the near future as my employer is opening an office in Singapore, and we will relocate there during August.. Check out the classified section if you are interested in renting our apartment in Centrestage.
