Considering Moving to HK, Sponsor Myself?

Hi,

A while back I started an HK corporation which isn't in my name but I control. The corporate bank account has a substantial amount of money via legitimate business with the USA, where I am a citizen.

Recently I have considered leaving the US and moving the HK. The problem is that I would need a visa I suppose. Would I need to actually hire myself?

I'd prefer not to be associated with the corporation as an employee. Any ideas?

i think you can start your own company in HK

the main point is... whenever you stay in hk you don't really need a VISA

So you are saying that I don't need a visa at all to stay an extended period in HK? Also Billy, I did start that business it's just structured in a way where it isn't in my name. I never really considered HK til recently and if this form is any indication then it seems like a fun place to be rich.

You do actually need a visa for extended stays. What Billy is probably referring to is the fact that the time limitation for visits, usually 3 months, can easily be circumvented by traveling outside of HK, ie short trips to China or Macau, and returning, thereby getting another 3 months.

Aside from applying for a work visa if the company hires you, you can also apply under a "Capital Investment" visa, where the investment is at least HK$6.5 million.

Hope this helps!
