Self Publishing Vs Publishing...

Hi,
I wonder if anyonecan advice me? Looking next year to have a children book published. The publication world is a business that is extremely complex and difficult to say the least.
Looking at the feasibilityof self-publication with a company called "Xlibris, author solutions" has
anyone done any business with them or published a book with them?

Trying to find thebest way to proceed. If anyone has been down this path before and has any
information that might be useful, I would be grateful.
I have not signedwith the self-publication company as yet, so if anyone has a better solution or a
self-publication company they could recommend, I will be externally grateful.
