We were casually informed by the tenants in the next door flat that the owner is thinking of selling the apt.
What a stroke of good luck, we thought, as we have been talking about purchasing that flat to combine it with ours for ages. Unfortunately, bef we could obtain the landlord's details, the tenants moved away.
I have done a property search (IRIS) to obtain some info on the owner but all it comes up with is the name of owner and nothing much else.
I'm hoping that someone can give me a suggestion as to what I should do.

Hi
You can try to contact one of the big real estate agent near your building, and tell them you want to buy the flat on floor x unit y. They have access to databases and can contact the owner thanks to their network.

Speak to the doorman and offer him a tip to help you (I've heard property people tell me they give cartons of smokes to doormen in exchange for info on apts that are coming up for rent or sale...)
