Hi everyone,
I am looking at buying off the plan student accommodation in Sheffield or Newcastle using Select Property. Has anyone had any experience with UK student accommodation and their guarantee of net yields for 5 years?

There are many things to consider when investing in student accommodation. It may seem simple on the face of things, but there are actually a few things to lookout for.

I looked into this about a year ago and decided against. My main concern is that re-selling may be difficult (as pointed out by Duracell) because these are not self-contained apartments or houses and there are limits on how / by who they can be used. You can buy self-contained / larger properties with the same amount of money.
