On our awareness trip we looked at an apartment in The Albany which we loved. we are concerned about how much noise you can hear from the neighbours in this building though..... doe anyone have any knowledge about this building??

we are about to move in April and the choice would be either a house in Discovery bay or an apartment in the Albany.....

It really depends on the lifestyle that you want to have when you are in Hong Kong. Discovery Bay offers you a holiday resort environment and you are confined to the Island on the weekends if you don't take the boat out. At The Albany, you could really have flexi hours, walk to everywhere, hop into a taxi or a bus or drive to anywhere you like. You could even take a boat to Discovery Bay when you feel like it. I personally would like to be on the Island unless you have young children up to just before they turned teens.

No noise problems from neighbours in The Albany but you can never guarantee that it will remain that way as population is quite transient. Friends in another complex complain that tenants in the apartment above them seem to be continually dragging chairs over wooden floors. A risk you take when living in high rise apartment blocks. As Bea says, The Albany is central to everything but different lifestyle to DB and kids certainly make a difference when choosing where to live.
