Buying a village flat- any tips?

Am currently looking into buying a village flat nr Sai Kung/clearwater bay. Im learning that buying and morgages are a little different over here. The bank valued the property well below the asking price. Can we use this as a bargaining tool?

If any one has any general tip or hints this would be really useful! thx

I doubt that you'll be able to use the low valuation as a bargaining tool because all property in Sai Kung/Clearwater Bay is priced at way over the bank valuation.

Thx all. Fortunate in that we have enough so that morgage so far doesnt seem to be a problem. Any other tips on the process more than any thing. Or any builder contacts to get a quote for renovations?

Can any one advise on having a structural survey? Surely this would need to happen before you go through with an offer?

You would be best to talk to a lawyer. Buying a village house/flat is not like buying a house in other countries.
