Your Thoughts

ORIGINAL POST

I've just signed a prelim-offer for an apartment. The agent faxed me the offer with the owner's acceptance, signed by him.Now she tells me that they are still waiting for the original copy as what the owner signed is a fax.Until they get the original it's not a done deal.

Does anyone smell a rat or ?

Any opinions welcomed as I've had lots of great feedback from some wonderful people out there on my previous queries. Thanks.

Agent should have went there in person to get the signed copy. Your agent did not do his job properly.

Thanks,Philly for your response. The owner is not in HK,sorry I forgot to mention that. The deadline for my offer was yesterday so I gess if I don't get the original by tomorrow I can call it off...very disappointing though after all that.

Depending on where the owner is it might take a bit longer than a few days to arrive in the post if it's not Fedex or someone.

Given that it's a contract of some importance I think they're being prudent in waiting for the original document to arrive.

Seems fair enough to me and nothing to be particularly concerned about.
