Tenancy possession issues - District Court vs Lands Tribunal

Hi there

I've read on this forum that when a landlord wants to evict a tenant, the Lands Tribunal process can take a matter of months, even when the issue is fairly cut and dried. This looks to be right: there's a procedural process of at least a few weeks before the matter can even be heard (although the "Performance Pledge" for possession is 2 months, suggesting that it might take this long to get a hearing), plus even in an order for possession is granted, there'll doubtless be a period of at least a couple weeks for the tenant to comply.

But I've also heard that it's possible to go down the route of the District Court, which could be faster. Does anyone know about/have experience of this?

Many thanks for the advice as I'm in a slightly unusual and slightly tricky situation!
