Hello

I'd appreciate it if anyone can give me advice on my UK state pension. I left the UK ten years ago and have paid about 15 yrs of contributions before that. I'd like to top it up so that I can claim my full pension in the future. Can I? I have a feelling that as I'm not in the country anymore I cannot.

Cheers

Hi

You can transfer your money to a local pension fund that is theorically more flexible.

There are lots of companies that will offer you to transfer the money for you, most of them will be mostly interested in taking a cut when you can actually do everything by yourself.

You will find plenty of information on that (QROPS) on the HMRS site.

Hi,

I think you might be referring to the State Pension. This is the one based on National Insurance contributions. Am I right?

Regards,
Bill.
