Hi all,

I am doing some reasearch on where are the most popular, extoic and romantic places to propose to your partner in Hong Kong.

I have heard of Victoria Peak, the Star Ferry, Great Buddha at Lamma Island, Café Deco Restaurant, Felix the Peninsula, Pearl on the Peak, the Aqua Bar, Disneyland, Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, a Chinese Junk Cruise and even Stanley in the week.

But what I’m keen to find out if there are any other places in Hong Kong you have heard about, thought about, or even proposed to your partner at that you’d be happy to share.

I’m also looking for original ideas/places that would make a good location to capture my proposal on camera.

Any ideas, tips thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone

Steve

The options are almost infinite....

but as you write yourself -- it should be original; something so special, different, personal and romantic!! It has to be just your's, only your idea!

I have one such original idea but of course I cannot share it with you -- never heard or read anyone done it that way. But alas, I have no one to propose to... and would really love it if he proposed to me like that.... tough one :)

Well reading these threads, and realising how marriages goes tits up very quickly(its was no different way back in the 70's and 80's)I would suggest you propose on the steps of the Law Courts

My brother proposed to his fiance while on holiday in HK.... he took her to the best Chinese harbour view restaurant (cant remember it's name) - but it wasn't the location that made it special - he had pre-organised with the restaurant to provide "Fortune Cookies" after dinner (although not a really HK think to do - he had to bring them from Australia!) but he slipped in his own message into the cookie stating something like "You will receive a diamond in the near future" .... so after dinner the Fortune Cookies arrived and while his Fiance was reading her note, my Brother got down on one knee with a stunningly gorgeous diamond ring in open red velvet box in hand and recited the most tear-jerkingly lovely-dovey proposal ever... of course she said yes - then the waiters came with popping cork bottle of (complimentary) Champagne and cake with sparklers saying 'Congratuations' and with the cheers of the other diners etc.... I thought it was very romantic :)

My friend rented the entire small cinema, arranged with the cinema to stop the showing in the middle. And she thought it was mechanical failure. Lights on. All around were all their mutual friends, and HE entered with flowers, and ring, to the cheers of all their close friends. I could not remember the name of the cinema but can ask if anyone needs it. So romantic that many of their friends cried watching it.
