Not easy being a young expat in KL...

Hey all,


I just came back to the US from a 3 week trip in KL and I successfully passed my job interview. I will be moving back to KL in 2 weeks for an 8 year contract. At least.


First off, I will disagree with some posters on this forum: KL is FULL of western expat single ladies. However, most were quite not my age. I am a 23 year old US College graduate, and I am obviously looking to chill with people not much older than me. My last encounter in KL was a 41 year old lady, beautiful, mature, independant, smart... but just not my age. It was quite awkward, and I knew she was just having a little fun with me and that in the end, I would be falling into the trap.


Any people know where I can find people my age, westerners, and not necessarily for a relationship, but also random dating, going out and friendship.

Well, to state the obvious, you will definitely find the women in that age bracket in nightclubs et al.


I am not sure where you've been looking, from my hunch you found the lady online?


There are many other common suggestions on where to meet people, and this includes joining other activities, like gym, clubs. Not everyone that age is into online dating, because there's so many options in real life.

Yep, there are not many single expat westerner ladies in KL..especially below 25. However, 25-35 is ok. Well, if you want to meet these people, go to few spots like pubs in Bangsar (PJ), pubs in P Ramlee Road at KL (near KLCC) or go to beaches ! They are not only expat but a lot of travellers.
