Indeed, women cheat too. But, statistically, it is 'generally' believed that the guys cheat more :), sorry guys. The question however is, why do guys have the tendency to cheat on their guy? FANTASY, NEW EXPERIENCES, or just being a CHEAT??

You are fully right, women cheat too ! And the reason is the same as the men : something is missing (passion / sex/ self confidence...) I guess the main difference is : involving themselves much more in the relationship, they just can't play the game a long time and sooner or later they give up (their husband or their lover / or both).
Nothing dirty about that... we are all human beings after all... women are just much more discreet than men...

Agree with you Miming/Pumpkin, when you are in love and fully committed to someone, you don't even think of it.. when something is missing/gone in the relationship, a woman is just the equal as a man : human being. Once again, I point out the fact that a woman doesn't usually play the game a long time, she uses it as a wake-up call.. Men can be quite happy with cheating for years or decades with a girl after another.. and never wake up to realize something is wrong!

Okay, a few cheat with other guys, but LADIES!! Come on!! Does the gal not count if SHE isn't in a relationship but she is with a gentleman [cough] who is in ah, "concurrent" relationships?
Please. Both are guilty. And I have Definitely seen arguments that say when a woman "entices" a guy away from his current lady, that the stealing temptress is MORE to blame than the guy…

I think men and women cheat for a variety of reasons nowadays, but as a hangover of tradition it's seen as more common/acceptable for men to cheat. Whether because the society condoned men having multiple wives in the past or because women could be executed for adultery. There's still the remnants of this kind of thinking today which is why male cheating seems a much more prevelant issue no matter what the actual case is.

If you really do love the person you are with the it will cause guilt i think JC. Thats why id didnt do it when i was in the 12 year relationship. I always thought about him ever finding out though im sure for a once off he wouldnt have....though cheating can become addictive too...once you know you can get away with it, and it seems to spice up your real relationship you will go back if you can! LOL
Thats the only reason i didnt, as honest and sad as it is ! It was simply the worry of enjoying it and then him finding out!
I must agree though that for the first ten years the thought didnt enter my small brain, i was too enveloped in my love and didnt even wanna look at another man. Twas only when the going got tough and our sex life went down hill as a consequence that i started wondering if i could get away with it! hehe

Okay someone talked about the maths....two things to say about this...often women do not know they are being cheted on or that the man they are with has a girlfriend or wife....some do....look at all the stories when they find out...with men people around them know they are cheating but nobody will tell the girlfriend wife....
Yes, of course some women cheat, BUT I think that more men cheat....
This is not because of conservatism, this is through observation. Many men, not all, think it is okay to cheat. By the same token many women think it is normal to be faithful,some women cheat.
Of course I do not have figures, but I am a woman, and I have female friends who confide all, some will cheat, some will not. There are relatively few who do, and they are less likely to cheat the more mature they are....perhaps that is the same with men as well, I don't know.

Regards the numbers. I read somewhere that research showed that 7x as many men cheat as women. The balance int he maths is that men are more likely to cheat once or twice, where women are more likely to be serial adulterers.

Sad truth? No. If we are to believe the statistics, women manage to do it and get away with it.
Just for balance, a man who accuses his partner of being unfaithful is in bigger sh*t than vice versa (whether it be yay or nae).
