i dreampt last night that I visited HK and the sun was shining. When i woke this morning i realised that it was just a dream and really i was lovely and snug in my little bed at my mums with full central, non drafty heating a blasting. Never will i forget my days in Beijing....or Xmas day 2002 when it had snowed and we were out having fights outside our appartment. Wow that was real cold and thats coming from a girl who was born and bred in britain!

Well I am 31 going on 12, single(erm kind of, LDR nightmare scenario), been in China for four years and Shanghai for the last 1 1/2.
Every time I think this sucks I lie back and think of England(now that REALLY did suck).
No cats, no dogs, no fish, no pot bellied pigs, no husband, jesus what have I been doing with my life.

No as I said, when I think of England it reminds me that England really did suck. I like where I am but as with living in any foreign country there are good days and bad.
I don't think taxi drivers have any idea of the power they weild, a bad taxi driver can turn your day to crap very easily.

Oh my god, driving in Shanghai!! I am not that brave.. firstly the cost of the car(I am a teacher, not on a cushy expat package), and there is nowhere to park here, the drivers are kind of crazy. No as much as it can be a pain in the neck taxis and the metro are the best choices.

Balzac... cat is being cared for by ex-girlfriend and her flatmates in San Francisco. They are so attached to the little critter, that when i visited them a few months ago, they tried to set me up on a date with thier friend who is allergic to cats, so I wouldn't be able to take him back. :)

Well educated is a broad definition for some.
I believe she is talking about boys from kindergarten. It is actually easier to pick up a language when speaking with kids. They don't laugh at you and speak quite simple sentences.
