L42 - sound like your husband has the typical 'Madonna / Whore' complex. You need to find a way of convincing him that sex is good and not a 'dity' thing. Is he catholic by any chance? I would suggest couples counselling.

Try going out at night and getting a bit drunk like the old days, if that is what you did.


It is hard to "forget" the fact you have a little baby, you gave birth, etc, etc. Maybe a big bender might help lower those inhibitions?

I find this slightly comical only because I had the same problem. After my wife became a mother, she was the one who became puritanical and unadventerous. Prior to our becoming parents, our sex life was pretty good. Not crazy and over the line, but fun and satisying. Now, it is the exact opposite. For her, it became a question of how quickly can we get it over with, and heaven forbid that we try some of our old "techniques". I had tried all sorts of tactics to bring her back to the fun side, but all failed. For me, the intimate relations are very important to a relationship, but to have my wife look at me and think that what I suggest is perverted ( when 3 years ago, she would be the one to initiate such activities) was more than I could bear. As it happens in so many other relationships, the death of our sex life also created other problems that lead to our parting ways.


Humans are strange creatures and it is difficult to predict how major life style changes will affect each partner. While I love my child very much, I would have definitely reconsidered having children if I had known how it would affect my relationship with my wife.
