Have lost 3 kgs since breakup last month (after found out I was just his side dish), and the scale is still going down. Heart is still aching, eyes are still tearful, still didn't want to get out of bed every morning... but hey, this is a pleasant surprise, going by this rate, I'll have shaken off 6 kgs by this month.
So to all the gals out there who are heartbroken from cheaters or whatever, see the bright side. For me, I'm ready to go out shop and get a whole new wardrobe, and ready to pose for the Sports Illustrative! If I ever get a call from them, that is...

Hey Josephine I went through the same and lost loads of weight.
Read a really good book called facing the fear, that helped alot.
I also decided to spend a months wage on nothing other than hairdressers, nail technitions, sunbed and clothes shopping. I hung around good friends and did everything I could do to make me feel better.
I hope you start to feel better soon. If you feel better when you cry (I did), then just make sure you allow time for that but also make other time to go and see friends etc. I spent 6 weeks crying into my pillow and in hindsight it was a little long!!!!
I am cheering for you that you are able to lift yourself up and move on.

Its great to know that you gals are putting a positive spin on the whole break-up thing .... otherwise, it could be terrible. Becareful though that you don't acquire something else in the course of losing the 'excess flesh'; like eating disorders, etc.
Btw, is weight lost good? If so, why did you lose it only when you were dumped or you dumped him??

Don't know why the loss of weight, maybe from sleepless nights, maybe anger burns excess calories, maybe I din't eat out in the restaurants as often (couldn't resist that creme brulee at good restaurant), dunno, just happy that it happened.
I don't have a problem with my weight, but can use the loss of 6 kilos, at least for now, to get to that cosmo cover girl size, ha ha, ha. Well, I guess just need a "new me".

GEES - that's exactly what I'm going to do: take care of myself. Just made appt for a facial for eye puffiness reduciton (from excessive tears), second, are getting a new phone and number, because everytime after he calls and begs for second chance, I cry, and cry, and are afraid that I'll lose myself, and are not strong enough to stick to my "no, it's over".

meant I "am", don't know why I kept saying "are, are, are"

More side benefits:
- can refocus on the work, it's not too late yet to earn back that big fat yearend bonus check (boss has been a bit disappointed lately for my lack of overtimes and 200% dedications to work, all due to my center of gravity being placed on being a "side dish" :(
- get to travel alone and check out hot guys. By the way, what's the best place to go in SE Asia area, for a lone woman?

josephine, thanks for starting this great thread - it is cheering me up enormously :-)
i sound like a broken record over in the travel forums, but i always recommend Boracay here in the philippines. there's a wide variety of places to stay right on white beach (without the huge hulking hotel chains), tons of places to eat, drink, and have fun. everyone speaks english, and there is a good mix of local and foreign visitors. best of all, my favorite indulgence: mandala spa!
go alone, go with a girl friend - either way you can have exactly the kind of time you want (quiet, wild, therapeutic, sporty...) :-)

OK Here I go smiling around and looking like a nutcase. :D

I checked out the Boracay on the map, nice place, bummer, got stuck by work, can't just take off for now.
Meanwhile, this getting away thing will not work wonders, I've been away for some time, came back, unexpectedly bumping into him the other day sent me back to step 1 of Momo8's list, I thought I've already made it down to step 9 on the road to moving on.
Well, the upside is no more tears this time, done with the crying thing. I guess after couple rounds of shuffling between step 1 to 9, step 10 should be in the horizon soon.
Thanks, momo9, for the list, good to intellectualize these confusing feelings.
Other tips? what other things you guys did that helped, specific things will help.
One more round of cheering to all the heart broken ones out there, a Chinese saying goes "If the old does not leave, the new will never arrive"
