Will you please tell me if he's a player?
I knew him from last November. He is an American. We enjoyed a very nice time when he traveled back to Beijing this May and after he went back to US, we chatted a lot on MSN. The relationship seemed going along well. When he was about to come back here days before, he told me that his vacation would be cut short because his boss wanted him to go back work. He was supposed to go to Shanghai first and Tibet and then Beijing. That means he might not be able to come to Beijing this time. The Shanghai trip is for business but the Tibet trip is just a tour. So I doubted his priorities around this relationship. Then he asked for a breakup. He said he would not want to hurt me but have no choice except ending it because we dont have a parity of our priorities.
I dont understand what he means exactly. Is he saying he's just being casual in this relation?

Thank you for your reply. I guess you are probably true. I also choose to believe that he's not a player. But how far is it from being casual to player? Is it just a player playing in the name of love?

I probably understand the theory. I went to Shanghai to see him days ago. And quite confirmed to myself that we were on a break. He's in Tibet now and he told me he would probably still come to Beijing after that. Should I see him again? Because I still expecting for changes..

yeah, probably just come back to Bejing if he want "a bit of safe fun". Come on dear, he is not a player, he just normal expat, work aboard, interest in Chinese stuff and want a bit of fun when he was alone.
Don't think too much, if you did not loose anything like money, properties, just think you had a good time. If you cannot handle this kind of relationship, dun even bother to see him again, move on and meet some others.
