That wasn't very helpful now, was it?

Really, it depends on your interests and what you're looking for.

There are people who would choose to meet others at drinkers' bars, sports bars, gay bars, discos, artsy places like the Fringe Club, classes, church, personals, dating websites, sex websites, clubs...

Maybe let us know what you're looking for and someone can help a little more.

True, that. But we can't expect everyone to know what we do, even what we would consider common sense.

But really, I know none of us could have a clue what to recommend to the OP until we get more info.

I have a feeling HK2Chicago that you are not in HK yet. Is that right? That would be the only reason you would as such a question. The most obvious port of call would be to go to lan quai fong to the bars there and you will meet lots of people who speak english and are also other expats. Go there and then ask around for the things that fulfill your interests.

A couple techniques might work. If you're male, you can stand in Queen's Road Central scrutinizing a map. If you're cute enough, and English-speaking female will offer help.

If you're female, I recommend standing with map in hand but turning it in various directions as you look between the map and the tall buildings. Only those with confident English skills will approach.

joe blow,

I didnt know if to laugh or cry reading your stuff. westernised locals worth getting to know?..:) Man! why do you bother living out of the western world at all? English speaking expats or english speaking locals would be the words to use not white expats and westernized locals. hope you take the advice kindly. And no, I am not a westerner or a westernized local:)
