Mojo,
You should not feel guilty to leave him. he is the one keep torture you both verbally and physically, it's the time to give it an end. you have give him many chances but he never changes, will he ever change? i believe you have know the answer already. Please take good care of yourself

Start recording the abusive things he says (get a digital recorder if you can, or write them down verbatim as soon as you can) and write down the times he hits you and the severity of it. Then you can send him an ultimatum when he is at his sweetest and least ecxpects it, including the evidence of what he has done, and your statement of the fact that if something like this happens again, you are going to leave.

My dear Mojo. Please don't waste anymore time with him as he doesn't appreciate you. Go for a long vacation leaving him a good-bye/farewell note. You deserve better. Good luck and keep smiling :-)

yes get the hell out of this relationship asap. Its not worth the grief or the hassle and what would happen next time if he goes even further, doesn't bear thinking about it.

Many girls have not enough strengh to deal with such a guy! First you have to control your mind & your heart. I feel you got too much feeling for him to take the decision to leave. If you are back with him each time he becomes a lamb, it means that you're not ready to act.
But don't forget there are so many people on the Earth that you cannot be confined in such a bad life...find a good friend who can help you, sometimes, it's the best way to feel stronger and self-confident then go far away from this terrible guy and never keep in touch anymore!!!!

That's a good suggestion, if only to see if he's really worth it. If he agrees to seek help, that's a good sign. If he doesn't, he's possiblty NPD and you would know it's time to dump him and get our of the relationship, because it never, ever will get any better.
