Love can be blind but ask yourself does he worth it?

He's lazy or simply needs a rest.
But if he needs a rest, be prepared for such a rest to last a very, very long time. Are you willing to put up with it?

If he's already forgetting your birthday and lacks a sense of responsibility in the house, what's going to happen when you both decide to proceed further and get married? Are you willing to spend the rest of your life with him who can't surprise you and who can't spark your life? Love is one thing, managing the expectations of a relationship is another thing. He seems to have the first but not the second. The list of things you wrote is something that a partner should do anyway, I don't find that something that is especially touching that would worth keeping him on your side. It is difficult to let go, but if you do think long-term, think about whether you will live a happy life with someone who cares so much to forget the important occasion of your bday. Any men would know that bday celebration, anniversaries, etc. are so important to a woman.

JC, it's such a general statement and for the gals out there, dont get discouraged cause not every man was created equally. My father remembers all of our birthdays, my bf of many years still keeps surprising me on special occasions. It's really the thought that counts. If you are lucky, you find a man who would compromise and make efforts to compensate for stereotypical traits associated with the gender. If you are unlucky, you end up finding someone who would use menstrual cycle and PMS as a reason to avoid you, instead of being sensitive to the your physical well being.

i am a girl...but i will sometimes forget my boyfriend's or other friends' birthday ... same as Aijin, i will remember that a few weeks in advance but always the greeting is a belated one...i am glad that they dont get mad at me for that...because sometimes i will forget my own birthday too.

sometimes I would rather not remember and especially not be remided - I guess this goes with the "old age" situation
