How would you subtly or even not so subtly let a colleague know they have a BO problem? He's not the most popular member of staff and is quite arrogant and self important, so I'm thinking subtle wouldn't really work. But of course, since we still have to work together, those of us who have to smell him don't want to create an outright scene either.

What about buying a few room deodorizers and placing them in the office? A more direct way would be to get a "group present" like cologne maybe for the Xmas party. Good luck!
