Hello all, i am working in HK but with a mainland Chinese passport. My boyfriend is French and we want to get married. We got differnt info. and really hope you could advise us on this.

Can i get a 3-month tourist visa and then get married (sign the paper) at the city hall in Paris and then have my visa transferred into a spouse visa in paris and keep staying in France, or do i need to come back to China/HK to apply for the spouse visa with the signed paper/marriage certificate? Some even say i have to apply for the marriage visa to go to France to get married.

what kind of docs do i need to bring to France to get married?

Many many thanks for any advice! :)

To marry in the city hall (only legal way, religious marriage is not legal), you need to be a resident of that city/arrondissement of Paris.

Many French people who live in one place but want to marry in their family's home town in the country ask family members to certify that hey live at their address so they can marry in that place.

Call the consulate, though, that's really the best place to get complete information, especially regarding visa.
