please tell me if it would be possible to install a little recorder to record conversations in her mobile phone. This has been suggested by my family.
l know this is possible, but how would l get it done?

Nemesis yes you are right i see i did completely contradict myself in giving my unrequested opinion -definately a case of do what i say not what i do
and Lace did you never take a peek at your partners text messages,call records etc ?really not once ?-never even been curious as to where he goes and did some ringing around to check it out-?never made a surprise visit home when he thought you were at work?

Fully agree with gill2008 here.
Recording her phone conversations is downright illegal and is completely different from a surprise visit or taking a peek on text messages - and no Hongkong7 I have never snooped on my husband, I respect his privacy and he respects mine.

I can't help but wonder how many posts on this forum are seen by the person in question.
Is it not just a bit stupid to ask such a question on a public forum? You may have reason to think that your other half would never join the asiaxpat community, or couldn't possibly figure out who you are from that clever sign in name, but perhaps they're not so dumb as to not be able to figure it out.
As for the topic....
Wake up to yourself! It's not quite as if you've asked: Hi. Does anybody have any experience disposing of dead bodies in Hong Kong? but it's not far off! Just in case you missed the point - You've just asked for advice on performing an illegal act.

Wofsbaine - Not sure where you are coming from in your post. I have no desire to go through my husbands phone and he has no desire to go through mine, period.
We are both not exactly spring chickens and have each been through a messy divorce before we met. There really are relationships based on mutual trust and respect. Feel free to believe it or not.

i guess there is a fair lot of scepticism from some old hands here Lace about the likelehood of fidelity by both men and women in Hong Kong and China
lets just say i have been in hk/china 15 years and amongst all my friends i do not have one that either have not cheated themselves or been cheated on
not many men can resist the numerous temptations on offer all the time(& neither can a lot of the women
but dont be self righteous about other people(like the OP) that may or may not have good reason to be suspicious and want to confirm them or otherwise

a rice -queen is a rather crude slang term for a very attractive refined chinese female that has an absolutely (often a gwailo with yellow fever) adoring boyfriend that will do anything for her
you see it all the time in hong kong - guys following around their queens carrying the handbag and generally being useful in the hope of an appropriate reward that evening
you should not use such a term in polite company
