Hello All,

I am a Filipina who will be getting married to a German National and we are planning to get married in Hong Kong. So now all the nitty gritty begins with the documents.

Would anyone know what documents would my fiance need? For example what document must he get from Germany stating he is single? Does it have to be a specific document or will any document suffice? Will the document have to be translated in English?

I have already gone to the hong kong website immd.gov.hk however they do not specify what documents he and I will need. I've written them emails but still no luck.

Any information would be wonderful. Thank you

Katushka,

I am German and I got married 2 years ago in Hong Kong. All documents your fiance hands in have to be translated into English. He can do it himself and get them certified/approved by the German Consulate for a small fee. The registry will tell you exactly what you/he will need. As I was divorced I needed the divorce ruling plus a translation of it as well as my birth certificate.
