I'm just wondering if mixed couples who've had a baby, (where the guy is Caucasian and the mum is Asian) have given their baby a Chinese name.
And if so, have you used the dad's phonetic Chinese surname or used the mum's maiden Chinese surname.
I think in most cases where the dad is Asian, then it's less of a problem, cos then you just use the dad's surname. I'm just curious, thanks.

This has been discussed previously - and different people have done different things.
We have 2 names, one is the English name and the other is the Chinese name. For us we used a Chinese name close to the phonetic of my surname as traditionally a child only uses their mothers family name if she is a single mother. My wife would not do that, but others have done.
