Hi,
I'm from Germany and whant to marry my HK Chinese girlfriend.
In germany it's normal to buy a set of wedding rings and give it to her while you engage her.
So long she wears the ring on the right hand and when we are actually marry, the ring is changed from the right to the left hand.
Do you think I should keep it like this, or should I better do it like in the US and buy a seperate engagement ring ?

That's bullshit about HK girls liking diamond rings only, and "bigger the stone the better." Not ALL HK girls are like that. If she loves you, she will be overjoyed with your proposal anyway. Congratulations. :) It's a wonderful thing to know you've found the person you want to marry.

Glad to know you've found a HK Chinese girl you love and it was very unfriendly, very hostile and sarcastic of cara to make that inappropriate remark about 'hk chinese girl' in reply to O.P. who is only seeking advice.
Anyway, Dangy - do whatever that feels right for you - either your own culture or mix and match with your girl-friend's culture. Respect is most important in a relation. Your HK Chinese girl-friend should be prepare to adapt to change as she knows she's marrying a Westerner and I can see you love her and care enough to ask for advice in this forum. All the best!

Actually the tradition comes come a marketing campaigne for DeBeers!!!! If she loves you she should be happy with a pop can tab.... thats my perspective.... good luck
