I have been spending months (if not years...) trying to date over the Internet, but those ladies I have met ended up to be complete liers and fakes, or unsuitable matches...
I would like to try the "old fashion" and (perhaps more "serious") matchmaker.
Has anyone got any experience with the local matchmaking agencies here in Guangdong?
Searching the Internet for those "so-called" international marriage agencies gives lots of results, but how to find those which are established and reputable?

If you are caucasian, you don't need to go through any match making agencies. It should be very easy for you to find one in Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Just tell your friends/colleagues that you are looking, I am sure they will have a list to show you. :-)

s1339, perhaps you are right, I don't need matchmaking agencies (I happen to be a Caucasian).
But I don't really see myself talking about it in public, as I feel that it could be a cause of embarassment, not so much for me but for others (those on the so-called list...). Or am I wrong?

Daphnis, it is certainly not embarrassing. You will end up finding a better one through referral of your friends/colleagues. They have a liability to you for the referrals they give, and so they filter out all the bad ones (no criminal records, ill temper) for you. And trust me, they will put their cousins/nieces in the top list to you. :D
I have seen many successful cases.
