hello all
i am a filipina who will be getting to a german national and we are planning to get married in hongkong maybe this year 2009.would anyone knows what documents would i need?im married a u s a melitary last 2006 and im already devorced last 2008 now i have to planning to get married again he is a german,and we are palnning to married in hongkong.would anyone know what documents i need to get married in hongkong?pls help me i really dont know what im doing to do..like what i read in forums here i have already gone to the website immd.gov.hk however they do not specify what documents i need.pls pls tell me what i need to do...thank you

You need:
- Passport
- HK ID (if any)
- Divorce papers (in English or Chinese) confirming your divorce
- Money (315 for registration and 705 for marriage)
Hong Kong is pretty simple and straight forward.
You could also call the Wedding Registry. They are usually helpful in answering such questions.
By the way, I don't think Immigration department is the right place to ask.

i know germany (and other continental european countries) pretty well. their requirements for marriage are a lot more complicated than hong kong, but become a lot less complicated once you are married in say hong kong and present them the hong kong marriage license.

why are you getting married in Hong Kong ? why dont you ask your fiance what docs are needed for getting married to HK.

i dont know for sure, but in my case our divorce papers had to come from the place where the marriage was registered first. so if you got legally married in arizona and got divorced there, then that's the papers you need.
if you got married in arizona and then subsequently registered this marriage in the philippines, then i do not think you need to produce the phils divorce confirmation to the hk registry. that would just not make sense as your actual divorce happened in arizona (as far as I can tell).
now i know for a fact that you need to bring the original court/divorce documents. a copy is usually not good enough except when certified by a lawyer (actuary?).
