Just curious to know if expats find a Chinese woman to get married. I have seen many interracial couples in LKF. Wondering if they have just met for a date or will it lead to a committed relationship? I heard white guys are nicer in their home countries. Once they come to Asia, they change ...I also curious if they see all Asian women the same. I mean all are pretty no matter of their shape, height or size...I notice Asian men tend to like taller, slim women with more Westernised features. western men go for the opposite if they date an Asian woman...

seems you have only come across stereotypes so far. i know many western men married to chinese (mainland and hong kong) women. and some of them are even quite nice...AND have the ability to differentiate among asian women...

I know some successful cases. My American boss over 50 got married to a woman from the mainland China. He has kids with her too, but he asked me out! I think people from the old generation still get married easily, but goodlooking guys in their thirties now don't commit. Not even mention marriage. Those married cases may be only 20%. I know there are a few interracial couples, but most of my friends broke up with white guys after a while. I heard there are many players who come here.

I think that the world over, people are waiting longer before getting married, not just in Hong Kong or with caucasians. Forever is a long time, so might as well take your sweet time before commiting to that.

Some of the ugliest men I have ever seen, who would never get laid in the UK, are with gorgeous Chinese girls. But my HK friends have a very different taste than me. I'm white British and I hate to conform to stereotype but I prefer the more Asian features - 'small eyes type' my fiancé calls it! Incidentally, he isn't a small eyes type! He is Chinese though.
It is true that the men act differently on Hk than they do in their own countries. Men who wouldn't approach women in their own countries seem to think they're god's gift in HK. I am of course stereotyping because I do my best not to know these people but I think I'm not far wrong.

I think people have different beauty concept or standard. Asian guys like Westernised faces. You can see the most popular actresses here who have more Westernized facial features...big eyes, sharp nose, long lashes, long legs...Girls with these features usually get married to rich Chinese guys. Those so-called small eyes type are quite common here. Western people find them more special as they hardly find those in their own countries. So it's the same...Western guys...just a bit taller with bigger eyes...they think they have more power here. I know what you mean. I have lived in 3 countries. I have seen very goodlooking european men. But those just average who come to HK (not even taller than 5'9, average face..) Girls chase after them. Don't forget there are more women than men in HK. not enough for allocation.

Cookie is correct, you have seen only sterotypes.... if you go to LKF expect to find nothing but players... decent western men don't go there.
To answer the question; I know more than one dozen happily married mixed couples. In every case the couple are both very well educated & have good jobs.

I don't mean all are players. Just in my office..international law firm...we have mandarin speaking foreign lawyers who get married to Chinese women. To be a player, you usually need to be good-looking, rich, young and tall. ha ha.. Of course, there are happy mixed couples. I have a few friends who got married successful, but usually the guy is not very good-looking or the man is at least 10 yrs older. yes, both have good jobs. I also have more friends who dated Western guys (usually younger ones). It's hard to last...I am just curious about those younger guys (in their early thirties, relatively handsome) I see in LKF.

I find it rather odd when people say decent western men don't go to LKF. LKF is regularly frequented by very decent western men having a drink with wives or girlfriends after work, either before going to dinner or going home. Admittedly since the building work has begun many have shifted either to Wyndham Street or Soho, but I wouldn't say that LKF is "full of players".
Dingo, you should head up to LKF, Wyndham Street or Soho and you will find many decent early thirties, relatively handsome men. You might have to be a little bold to go and start a conversation with them, but if you are fun and have something to say for yourself I am sure you could make many friends. Who knows, you may even find more than friendship. But there are plenty of decent guys around, not just players.

I actually met a long distance boyfriend in wynthm street. He is very nice but only 30 yrs old. I also don't know when he will transfer to HK as his business hasn't picked up. I can't wait forever. I do go out and date guys I meet everywhere, but I attract young guys. I am 5'7 tall. It's not easy to find a great match. I also prefer German/Scandinavian look. I have Mongolian/Korean/Eastern European look. So things are not easy here. You got to set me up! Lol. Can't wait in bars every day! in fact, some guys are players. Some are not. Just no chemistry. However, I do have friends who meet guys who cannot commit. I think it's luck.
