Hi,
We are HK permanent residents, who have lived together for years and our getting together "anniversary" is coming up.
I would like to celebrate by having a quick, no fuss, no big white dress, casual wedding, with just the two of us. ( Witnesses to be provided by the registry)
Any ideas where we can get spliced in HK with no fuss attached?

Erm, the registry?
If its just the two of you, all you need is a marriage license and to rock up to City hall or to the Cotton Tree Drive registry. I don't think fancy clothes or anything else is necessary...although I am curious if they hook you up with withnesses if you don't bring your own.

I believe you have to book the registry a month ahead of time & provide your own witnesses.

I believe you can do it pretty much in any lawyers office too. And I think they will provide the witnesses.
I went to a wedding in a lawyers office here once. Held in a meeting room around a meeting table. Bride, groom, witness 1, me and lawyer. It was a bit surreal but fast and efficient like so many things in HK. About 10 minutes is all it took.

i got married here in the HK Park Registry office. You MUST provide 2 witnesses to sign the form. Otherwise all you need to do is to post your intent to marry 1 month in advance and book the date with the registry office. As spurtio said, 10 minutes, if you choose a date not considered favorable by the chinese calendar for weddings, you will have the place to yourself, otherwise you wait in line...
