Well that is fair justice I would say, he has given his partner a potentially life threatening illness knowingly.

Medication to treat the symptoms of fully blown AIDS costs so much money, it only prolongs life not cures it.

I realise there are many innocent victims of HIV who go on to develop AIDS, through blood transfusion, getting it by accident through infected blood (ie needlestick injuries, dealing with cuts from an HIV infected person)spouses and partners of drugs addicts, they have my sympathy and deserve life prolonging treatment if they want it.

But for people who go with prostitutes, or other partners- be it men or women without thought or protection, or share needles with other drugs users, then they are asking for trouble, it is like playing a game of Russian Roulette- one day the bullet will bite, I am afraid I don't have a lot of sympathy there, they are really asking for trouble.

I am sure this will happen all over the world, but if they faced a jail sentence would they be more carefull, and not play about with other men or women? Lots of men 'enjoy' the attentions of women and sometimes other men, who offer sex services in Wan Chai, and other areas. Lots of the women/men providing the sex, are often on a tourist visa, or sometimes DH's offering sex to earn a bit of extra money, however, men using them only think of the initial thrill, not the fact that these people may have entertained 100's before them. These women are quite happy to provide the sex, that is how they earn money, get their stache of cash and fly home at the end of the tourist permit, only to return at another time and do it all over again. I cannot believe that women/men providing these services have an HIV or STD test after each client, some of them may have the occasional test, but it only takes one client to pass on HIV and STD's, and who knows who that may be, they could have passed it on to loads more people by then.
