Say, you’re dating a woman only to find out that she had a boob job the first time you make love to her. Does that turn you off? Do guys think fake boobs are gross? Or is it something that you don't even give a damn of?

Every man has his own idea of the ‘perfect’ breast size. In general, men prefer larger breasts, and they do not care if they are real or ‘man made’.
A lot of people will say things like “I hate fake breasts”, but as far as I know, none of my buddies have ever been grossed out by ‘fake’ breasts. This seems to be a meme spread by women with small breasts who don’t want to get them made bigger, and are jealous / resent women who do.

Yep, every man has his own idea of whats hot. I mean, look at Alex Rodriguez, he obviously has a type...women with man hands and bolt on tittays. Now even Cameron Diaz has caved and gone the half grapefruit route.
I think its a very personal decision, getting implants.
Its up to the "wearer" whether to get them or not.
Nothing worse than a woman that gets them purely so men will want to gawk at her tits more...
Although, I have known a few female friends who were very fit, runners or professional pole dancing instructors, who had stunning bodies apart from the ol -A cup, you know "Just nipples here, nothing to see!" action.
Both the lasses I know who went in for implants did so just purely so they could feel less "boyish" and went simply for a B cup, which made them look like regular "normal/small" breasted women. I think this kind of implant stint, to me, is a good thing. Positively self-compassionate, in my eyes.
The other extreme are women who get a boob implant because they think they will reign in a cheating husband, or relight a fire in their relationship that has fizzled (the reality is that new tits will only add a small flash in the pan, after a while the novelty will wear off)...or who feel down on themselves and think that new boobs, sometimes really waaaay bigger boobs that could lead to back problems, are the solution to self-esteem issues that have roots all the way back in childhood somewhere.
Most guys like boobs. Real boobs feel nice, fake boobs feel firmer and require more maintainance for the implantee...but hey, they are still fun for men to play with, boobs are boobs.

Yes, guys love boobs, but "The bigger, the better" isn't really the way it works, as far as I see it. More like "If they happen to be big, lucky me!" Most guys can accept smaller breasts, and will actually learn to appreciate them, unless they're shallow p**cks.
Personally, I see breast implants as a crime against nature. I find it much more attractive to see a girl comfortable with her appearance, than to see one disfigure herself to gain attention.
When I see a woman with the rock-hard, half-a-grapefruit-stretched-under-a-swimming-cap look, it really turns me off. I have a similar response to seeing this sort of disfigurement as when I've witnessed major joint dislocations. It's disturbing.

fake boobs are just a symptom of something more worrying, such as a distorted body image and an excessive preoccupation with physical appearances. Those who choose to undergo dangerous, painful and expensive surgery to add a few cm to her breast for purely aesthetical reasons, may suffer from other undesirable personality traits, such as superficiality.
There is more to a woman than her breast. Men may like big boobs for one night stands, but definitely prefer a good personality for a long-term relationship. So, my advice would be, work on your personality, and leave your breast alone.

only ok if I really can't tell that they are fake. And that requires an excellent surgeon and a good bit of body fat. Nothing worse than a skinny girl with stiff jelly grapefruit halves attached to her chest ...*shudder*

CaptDave – Thanks for sharing. I’ve asked my guy friends the same question and, interestingly, I found that local (HK) guys generally disapprove fake boobs while European and North Americans guys don’t really care if they’re real or not.
Justin Credible (Part Deux) – I agree with you. Some of my friends got a boob job because they’re hunger for the attention while others, such as your fit female friends, just want to boost their self-esteem. I think it’s similar to men who use steroids. Some desire attention while others just want to feel a little better about themselves. I don’t judge guys who use steroids. I don’t understand why women are sometimes judged just because they had a boob job. (Your comment, “But hey, they are still fun for men to play with, boobs are boobs,” totally cracked me up.)
Brocko – I think moderate size is nice. Humongous boobs look freakish. What do you think of women who are on the boyish side, like Justin Credible’s fit friends above, and just want to get a new set of boobs in moderate size? Does that turn you off? Or are you okay with those?
selda – I understand where you’re coming from. I think some small-breasted women totally rock the look. There are, however, women who’d look better with fuller breasts. What do you think of women who want new boobs, not for men but for themselves? For example, to look better in clothes and finally understand what it’s like to have a cleavage?
flyboyHK – I think guys can tell no matter how skillful the surgeon is. They just don’t feel the same. What if the boobs aren’t huge but of moderate size? And the woman who got the boob job doesn’t flaunt them; she just wants to boost her self-esteem and look better in clothes? Since she doesn’t flaunt them, you can’t tell whether they’re fake until the first time you both spent the night together. How would you react?
hk62375790 – I was wondering whether guys think fake boobs are gross.

jellobo, it really depends. For example this http://cdn.crushable.com/files/2011/01/Picture-9.png is not oversized, but clearly fake and given the choice between these and a smaller set of natural boobs I'd rather play with the natural ones.
Would I be grossed out if I found out after undressing a girl like this? No. Dissapointed - probably yes.

just want to add that while most men like bigger boobs, there's a not too small set of men who like smaller boobs. heck there is even a porn category for it, so there must be a segment to be served

Jellobo,
a fake breast may boost your self-esteem for a couple of months (as your mind will trick you into believing that spending your $$$ on a boob job is justified) but as soon as the novelty wears off, your self-esteem will need another boost, maybe an eyelid job, maybe botox, so where do you draw the line?
Any psychologist will tell you that you don't fix your self-esteem problems with surgery.
Just imagine this scenario. You get your boob job, than you fall in love with a guy who likes natural, small boobs. What do you? Remove the implants??
True self-esteem comes from accepting and loving your body. There are plenty of guys out there who like small boobs, so obviously attracting men shouldn't be a problem. As to looking good in your clothes, fashion models have tiny boobs, the majority of them have a flat chest. Ballet dancers are mostly flat-chested and yet can be extremely feminine.
Draw the attention to your legs if you have no cleavage. Legs can be just as alluring.

I am not a fan of fake boobs. They look like rubber, they feel like rubber, and I am afraid they might taste like rubber too? If I like a girl I don't really care so much about the size of her breasts, as long as she is happy with her body and the person she is.
I meet a lot of women with fake boobs at work and they keep going on and on about the great investment they have made... and it is great if it works for them, but I like the feel of real, life, human flesh next to me.

Jellobo - I can remember a friend of mine (a former marathon champion) getting a boob job, and she went with what must have been the smallest size available. She wanted to know what all the fuss was about, and would frequently ask us for opinions. How cool is that? She would actually show her male friends, and ask them for comments! *Sigh* What a let down - they looked 'udderly' grotesque, and out of place. She eventually had them removed, because she still didn't see what the fuss was about. I admit, we were hoping that she would again ask us for opinions, once they were out, but it seemed she didn't need the approval.
It is most unattractive when the various parts of a person's anatomy appear to be somehow tied in to their self-worth. Whether it be their height, breasts, arse, (penis?) it doesn't matter; it's a huge turn-off, and women often say the same about men.
Please support our advertisers:
The post on Brazilian Waxing was a good illustration how social norms propagate. i.e. Many women feel pressured to get a wax because the fear of rejection.
In the same way, a lot of Asian men say 'I hate fake breasts' even if they like them, while in the USA men claim to admire women who are horribly over-inflated.
Moral of the story is do not feel driven by social pressure. Feel good about yourself. DO NOT get implants to save a relationship that is doomed anyhow. But if you want them for yourself, go ahead.

A lot of good opinions here...
I think, maybe if a woman had gone through popping out three kids and had breastfed the lot and then lost shedloads of weight that then left her tits looking like saggy little envelopes that have been sticky taped to a brick wall...well, maybe then I could understand why she'd want to get some semi normal implants, you know, "Fill 'er up!"
But for a woman with regular breast size to want to go that route, well, the big question is why?
To fit into clothes better? Sounds odd.
I mean, what cup are we talking about here?
Most of the womens clothes in HK seem to be tailor made for the small chested and narrow waisted (and hipped). I know expat friends who would kill to have smaller breasts! *shrug*
I guess its a matter of who it matters to.

flyboyHK - If I were a man, I would kill to tap that! But I’m not, so my opinions can be dismissed. Would you be so amused that you go tell your friends about the “discovery,” that the girl you’re dating has fake boobs?
cookie09 – I’m a straight woman, but I adore female bodies. Personally, I prefer women with moderate-sized boobs - not too flat, not too humungous. For example, I think the girl in the image provided by flyboyHK has great-looking boobs, even though they’re fake.
selda – Too late for me. I had a boob job a decade ago. I had eating disorder and lost a lot of weight, along with everything else. (I was down to 80+lbs.) I got a little better over the years but couldn’t accept the fact that my boobs were gone. There was nothing on my chest. Nada. Flatter than the airport. So I got a new set of boobs that were the same size as my natural boobs, which were far from big. B cup only. That’s the only surgery I’ve ever done. While I’m happy with the result and my new body, I do feel a little self-conscious when entering into a new relationship. What if the guy I’m dating find them gross?
Lunatic – What if you only find out that the girl you’re dating had a boob job on the first night you spent together? How would you react?
Brocko – Hahaha. How unfortunate for you guys. I think fake boobs feel kind of strange too. Silicon might feel better than saline. Do you know if your friend had silicon or saline?
CaptDave - I don’t get Brazilian waxing! The thought of it freaks me out. I’ll stick with bushy. Bushy is good. Bushy is wild. As for the implants, I already got them long time ago. Please see my reply to selda above. That’s why I wonder what men think of implants. I love you all for sharing your honest opinions with me.
Justin Credible (Part Deux) – I agree with you. It really depends on why she wants a boob job. I had mine done long time ago. If you’re curious why I did it, please see my reply to selda. I don’t wear slutty clothes; my boobs are never exposed. I just want to feel more feminine. I don’t regret going under the knife, but I do feel a little self-conscious when dating someone new, and it does hurt me to know that some guys might find them disgusting. The problem is: I don’t know how the guy would react when he finds out. I have suitors, but I keep pushing people away because of my insecurity. Wish I could read people’s mind...
Please support our advertisers:
Most guys not that fussy and happy to get anywhere near them. Unless we are talking a major disaster (I refer you to Justin Incredible Part Deux's post) then I would leave well alone. Also, don't forget the risks and all the trouble there has been with implants in France and the UK. Thirdly, what will happen when you are 70 and have great boobs but the rest of the body doesn't quite shape up?
Please support our advertisers:
Jellobo, it seems like you're a victim of your own self image. Don't mention your shape, don't even bring it up. If it's not any kind of issue to you, then guys are not going to pay any attention to it. If you focus on your insecurities, it just draws attention to the issue. It makes me think of a guilty looking puppy that hides from you when you come home "So, what have you done? Let's go have a look!"
If you're still uncomfortable about it, and don't feel genuinely confident, just do what guys do, and fake it. Most guys aren't genuinely confident, they just spend the preliminary part of any relationship trying to look cool, hoping you don't catch on too soon. Eventually, it may even sink in that it's not an issue. Good luck.

I am beginning to wonder if Lunatic has never actually been with a woman who had implants. Yes, in some cases you can feel the implant under the skin, but fake breasts do not feel like rubber or taste like rubber.. Furthermore the implant is under the skin, so you still get "human flesh next to me" sensation... just the shape is different.
Jellobo, be confident. I very much doubt the man is going to walk away from a relationship because you had a boob job. If he does then you're better off without him. Keep away from men with too many hangups. Consider this : a lot of women wear push up bras. Will a man dump a girl when she removes her push up bra and he finds the shape is not what he imagined ?
Good Luck.

"I have suitors, but I keep pushing people away because of my insecurity. Wish I could read people’s mind..."
Woah, ok, thats a first! :P
Right, how bizarre that you are worried about your implants like they are some "dirty little secret" that will one day be exposed! I mean, c'mon, its not like you are hiding a secret identity or something.
I think, well, if they make you feel so insecure now that you are avoiding getting intimate with suitors, well, I reckon you should have them removed!
BUT
If you want to keep them, then commit to the fact that you got them, that they are now a part of you and there is nothing for you to be ashamed of! I mean, do you want to be that someone who lives with regret? Nope, didnt think so.
Be matter of fact about it, and there is no need to mention it unless it becomes part of a conversation, coz, well, its part of you, it doesnt define who you are.
You are you, you are not "implant owner", you are simply you who happens to have implants so you could feel more feminine. No one is going to dump you coz you have implants. If they dump you its because you got other issues that arent attractive, trust me, implants are the last of your worries.

Thanks so much, guys! It’s very encouraging. Excellent advice, too. From this moment on, I’ll act confident, and accept that they’re now part of me and there’s nothing to be ashamed of. Act as if they’re not even a concern. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

CaptDave: Of course I have not been with a woman with implants. Otherwise, I would not write that I am afraid they might taste like rubber too, I would know for a fact. At work I have had plenty of encounters with women who have them, and they are very stiff and impossible to work with. There is no convincing me they feel anything like real breasts.
Jellobo: Good for you! There will be people who embrace them, and other people who don't, but really you should not care what everyone thinks, unless you are making a statistic. Drink some whiskey next time you are on a date and stop thinking about your breasts.

jellobo - i am a guy's guy from NA (Texas) and I LOVE boobs - the bigger the better - fake or real makes me no difference. I am easy like that - =) And I am always available for a free consult if you are ever looking for an opinion regarding how they look/feel - ;) As others have said - own it and worry less about what others may say or do when they find out. as was alluded to, at the onset of a relationship, most men are too worried about masking their own insecurities to be so quick to dismiss someone simply because they have implants. i mean seriously? there are so many other dynamics that come into play when assessing whether or not someone is a good fit. I mean even though i like em super-sized - i could just as easily settle down with someone who has a smaller cup size if they checked all the other boxes - i mean in the scheme of things, whether a woman has implants or not really doesn't score very high on my checklist w/r/t determining how real a friend. mother, wife she will be -

Jellobo, if it enhances your looks and you feel better with them, then thats all that matters.
THat said, there are many parts of a womans anatomy that are appealing to a guy. The guy you might be dating may not even give a hoot for the size and feel of your breasts.

Back to the original question: I would imagine that by the time he discovered that your boobs were fake, he'd know you well enough that it would not be the deciding factor in your relationship.
In many ways, boob jobs should be like tattoos on a guy: you should get them for YOURSELF because you like how they look, not because you think OTHERS will find them attractive. If you get them done because they make you look hot, and some guy is suddenly turned off when he discovers that they are fake, then its a good thing that you didn't get into a longer term relationship with this guy. He was either going to be put off by your fake boobs, or you were going to be put off by NOT having fake boobs.

I am one of those men who have handled the 'implanted boobs'. You cant handle them the way you handle the real normal boobs. it would be painful for the woman if you stay longer at the boobs during romance. They look nice on the women but when a man handles them, it is so painful for them. Hence, please handle them gently and with more care. Dont do anything aggressively. fake is a fake and it is definitely painful.

The TV show Mythbusters dealt with the exploding implants myth - they don't. Even if the aircraft depressurized at altitude, they will not explode.
Please support our advertisers:
They may not explode, but they can actually invert or flip over. I know this because I watched an inane documentary on BBC about some glamour model and she had one of her implants flip over so that there was a heaven/hell number going on with her chest with one implant facing skywards and the other going south! Apparently that can happen, not sure what the explanation was but I bet its something along the lines of why some folks swell up in the legs and veins! Who knows.

A lot of the phenomenon depend on the circumstances.
e.g. Most Asians get their implants inserted thru the arm pit. Westerners either thru the nipple or the bra crease. Going thru the nipple can cause nipple loss of sensation... so warning statements like "you may lose nipple sensation" may or may not apply.

Jimmy K - It is bizarre though, isn't it? How someone like, say, Kim Kardashian is so famous. I am pretty sure it isn't coz loads of men are watching her show and following her fashion or twitter. That woman is all about fake stuff, tonnes of make up caked on, fake lashes, fake ass, fake boobs, fake lips...and yet, she's still making money on her looks! What kind of example does this set for young girls everywhere? When being a bimbo is what is expected and even glorified?

Fake breasts are probably the worst idea on this planet, and I say this as a doctor. The only exception would be if a woman's breasts were grossly disfigured. Any guy who "likes" a woman because of her large tits are just so shallow that it's pathetic. I also think it's quite a myth that all men love huge breasts. Just the bone heads. If that's not enough, they can be extremely damaging to the woman's health going forward. Just a bad, bad idea all around, despite what some of the comments above tell. Don't do it, you will regret it--I've seen the results and it's not a pretty picture plus the fake ones feel is even worse.

it seems folks here who are groused out by silicon boobs never heard of sucking out fat from the body and putting all that fat into boobs. It is more expensive as you have to do several procedures I believe ,as well less riskier than having silicon implants in your body.

I'd hate my wife to get them, but I definitely support them in people who wander past me, looking available.
