It may not be as simple as something in our genes, but children give off sexual orientation clues from a very early age.

I remember reading an article in a mainstream newspaper several years ago that male homosexuality may be linked to residual testosterone left in the womb by older brothers. Apparently everytime a woman gives birth to a boy, a small amount of testosterone is left in the womb so a a boy who has lots of older brothers has a higher statistical chance of being gay. This could actually make some sense from an ecological point of view. If a women has a lot of sons, they can gang up on other men and, in a primitive society, kill them or drive them out. This would weaken the gene pool by making it less diverse. The strange thing is that it is the male hormone testosterone that may make a man gay. Secondly, being gay is not something you are likely to do because you are a bit bored or if there's nothing on TV. I don't think most straight men are likely to be 'influenced' by somebody advocating a gay lifestyle.

As someone born ay been gay all my life...its in my genes. I didnt choose to be the way i am i just am that way. To those who think you can choose. I tried celibacy I tried girlfriends..but I liked their brothers more.

In reality there are many facets to sexuality. To say gay or Straight is just too limiting. There is a whole spectrum of sexuality asnd we are all somewhere along that line from totally gay to totally straight and all erm positions in between :-) So in reality I suspect you can be influenced to move along the line in one direction or the other a little way..So a straight guy might like an occasional blowjob from a guy. A gay guy may occasionally go out with a woman. There ae no real rules. Psychologists like to put us all in little boxes and it isnt that simple. Some folks like both. The theory about Gay men still holds a hint of truth..my husband is a youngest son and is gay as is his brother..and the eldest is straight...I am the youngest son and am gay. That said i know plenty of familys with many sons none of whom are gay. And single sons who are gay. I dont think we know why folks turn out the way they do...and maybe finding out isnt a great idea or we will end up with pink abortions. The theory also does not explain Lesbians. All this sh*t about life choice makes me smile. why would I have chosen to be gay? I would have loved kids..not hit the pink ceiling..not had abuse and grief from my teens to my forties..it is only now that things are vaguely easier for folks. Youngsters could not care less but her ein Hong Kong..it is still rreally hard for a son or daughter to announce their gayness. For me we will achieve equality when actually it is not an issue to be discussed..its just another facet of humanity

who would expect a homosexual to come openly and tell that his/her sexual orientation is not correct? they would all try to justify it one way or other..
