Hi ,
I've want a divorce from my hubby for 3 years but he continue to refuse. If I submit the petition myself (not joint petition), how long would it take for the entire process on average? We have 1 kid and not much assets.
I know for if both parties file and no issue with kid and assets its usually around 6-9 months.
Thank you

It can be less than six months -- it depends on what you may be fighting over.
I know it is obvious, but I will say it anyway: Have you thought of seeing a marriage counsellor?
Because, if you knew what you may be letting yourself in for - if things don't go smoothly - you may well regret starting the divorce, and wish you had tried harder.
After all, looks like he doesn't want to divorce you. Are you being selfish -- or is he? Or half and half?
You might have a divorce that goes easily and well. But then again, you might not. You certainly CAN divorce, in three years (and less). Trouble is, it can be utter hell -- and you'll wish you really had given it another go.
On the other hand, if you feel that staying IN the marriage is utter hell -- then maybe "freedom" is better, as at least you are free in the end.
I won't assume you are -- but don't be greedy. You both have to live -- afterwards.

Mr Dear..
Think and know what you want...this is a public forum...maybe I can talk you through what to do if you are still interested

You might want to collect some evidence if fidelity is the issue. There are 3 local private investigator agencies ran by expat,
1. Hong Kong Private Investigator
2. EBM consulting
3. Kroll and Spectrum OSO
There are positive comments on all three but the later 2 seems to be focusing on corporate clients now
