Wills better than prenuptials in divorces?

I have been informed that drawing up a Will here in HKG, will protect your assets if a divorce occured, ie if I put all my assets in a will for my family to inherit everything, then any future spouse would not have a right to any of the assets if thats the way I wanted it to be. This is probably how all these mega stars here in HKG protect their assets when they divorce.

useful comments appreciated

thanks in advance

Hmmm, hopefully, that's what he wants?

Nix wants to protect his assets from a potentially gold-digging fiancee (from what i read from his other posts here).

However, nix, what if you wife IS really just greedy?? If your children inherit your assets, she would have some kind of control over that, surely? Unless you mean for your mother to be the sole beneficiary of your assets, and then trust her to redistribute among your kids.

BUT, what if:

- she dies before you (your mom, I mean, it's more likely than not)?

- she does use the money wisely with your kids, but their mother puts pressure on them to give her some, too

- your wife is honest and good and true to you her whole life, has your kids, raises them, and then is left with nothing when you die?
