This is pretty normal in Latin America, partly because its a form of birth control that does not break the Roman Catholic church rules... In Asia it's not that common.
Is your girlfriend asian or western ? In either case there are some major social taboos; No woman ever wants to admit to her friends that she does anything like this. No matter how much she enjoys it.
