Women seeking marriage

Chinese women looking for American husbands is it real or some sort of scam?

That is what I thought, just wanted a second opinion. Thanks

oh yea in a big way but I am not a wide eyed school boy lol.

I think most people on dating websites are looking for a long term relationship with a possibility of marriage.


Cultural difference, from my limited understanding.

Westerners accept LTR means a try and see if it works approach and this involves recreational sex, and may even involve living together before marriage (if you get married at all). If the relationship doesn't work try again. If a western person advertises that they are seeking marriage, this may be seen by many as putting pressure on the relationship before it begins.


Perhaps, because of Chinese pragmatism, there seems little point in a relationship that does not lead to marriage. Chinese women will be under a lot more pressure (family and social) to get married. Marriage is almost a given, and so they say this upfront. The idea of recreational sex is still seen as socially immoral, even if Chinese do participate they won't admit it openly. They won't say they are looking for LTR, especially if they are getting older, and they won't want to live with somebody before marriage as this would be seen as immoral.


I also feel the need to say here that the above is an observation of social mores. I know the reality is often different, but in China there is the issue of face. And even in the west a woman would be reluctant to say she really needs a good seeing to in an advert, even if that is a major want.


In short. I think most women who advertise they are looking for marriage are looking to settle down and don't want to waste time. It is just that the Chinese are more direct about stating this.

Whenever I heard a chinese girl say she wants to find an american husband and move to US, I just think she's completely an idiot. What does a wealthy country mean for an individual who lacks basic quality to integrate in a country like US? and I doubt whether people understand the meaning of "american dream" at all... Comparing to any other country, America has the least tolerance for laziness and opportunism which ironically are exactly expressed in such a girl's desire to marry USA

funny enough, I always think that I am the type of women would never have a problem finding a boyfriend. I have almost everything that Chinese ladies dream for. My friend said that I am stunning, smart as i earned my master in the top school in usa,and I have a dream job, and well respect in the industry.... but I do not even have a boyfriend for couple of years... because i am super busy... office... home.. office.. home... so i am thinking perhaps, i should go online to look for a husband, to tell to directly that I want to get married, and do not want to waste those people what are only into long term relationship...
