Hi, I've been living in Vietnam and am now in the US to get some of my documents together to be able to go back to Vietnam and marry my fiancee. Some of the documents must be obtained here (such as birth certificate, no-marriage document, etc.) but there are a few others on the list such as a certified psychiatrist report which obviously would be far easier and cheaper to obtain in Vietnam than here (I expect to have to wait for an appointment and also to pay top dollar for that one).
Does anyone know about this, whether some of those items can be handled back in Vietnam?
Thanks for any info

A friend of mine (English) married a vietnamese lady about 8 years ago.... I don't know too much about the method other than they legally married in England and had the marriage "ceremony" in Hanoi.... the ceremony was basically a wedding reception where they announce that they are now married as far as friends and family go.... it was wayyyyyy easier to do it that way round than try to organise the paperwork in Vietnam.... expect lost of "consultancy" bills to be paid for any paperwork that might need to be done over there..... the amounts can add up....!
btw, when my friend enquired about the medical certificate, one of the tests required was for aids, so you might want to confirm in depth what tests are required as soon as possible (though the aids test might no longer be required).
